Jay Laabs

Chief Executive Officer

Jay Laabs is Spaulding Ridge’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for all operations at the firm, with a focus on cloud strategy and client engagement. As a recognized leader in the enterprise software and professional services community, Laabs was recognized by Consulting Magazine as one of the Top 25 Consultants of 2016.

Prior to Spaulding Ridge, Laabs gained distinction by founding Blue Stone International in 2005 and quickly scaling the firm to one of the largest Hyperion/Oracle firms globally, prior to selling the firm to Huron in 2013. While at Huron, Laabs continued to grow the Oracle business while also establishing Huron as a notable Salesforce.com partner. Under his leadership, Huron also aggressively expanded into the advanced analytics and enterprise resource planning areas. In his three years at Huron, Laabs grew the practice 5x in both people and revenue.

Laabs actively works with entrepreneurial leaders to scale their businesses through project work and executive coaching. He has previously served as an advisory board member and/or mentor for Acliviti, Levementum, Mavens Consulting, Ignite Journeys and One North Interactive. He is also a member and officer of Young President’s Organization (“YPO”) and Hyde Park Angels.

Laabs has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions through his own successful exit at Blue Stone International, his time at Davis Capital, the acquisitions he led at Huron, including ADI Strategies, Cloud 62, Threshold Consulting and Rittman Mead India and Spaulding Ridge’s acquisitions of Plan Rocket Consulting and Buan Consulting.

Technology areas of expertise include enterprise performance management, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, business analytics and finance. Industry expertise includes retail, real estate, professional services and natural resources. Laabs is also an active angel and private equity investor.

Laabs graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Finance and specialization in International Business. He is a member of the Bascom Hill Society.
