Coinbase had been managing most of their core financial planning processes in Google sheets. This had become quite challenging in the face of more complex planning processes. They also required additional security around their planning process.

Anaplan Models to Support Simplified Planning and Forecasting

Coinbase engaged Spaulding Ridge to assist in the customization and implementation of Anaplan solution and to build a roadmap for more advanced planning and reporting structure. Spaulding Ridge assisted Coinbase in building an FP&A model which allowed for all planning and forecasting of the P&L to all be done within Anaplan. In addition to a core FP&A model, SR worked with Coinbase to build out a separate workforce planning model to ultimately feed into the FP&A model.

As a result of the collaboration, Coinbase has been able to complete their FP&A process more efficiently with increased data accuracy, security and ease. The integration of workforce planning to anticipate hiring needs has enhanced the system effectiveness.
